The Sweet 16 Candle Lighting Ceremony is performed as a "highlight" of the party. The birthday girl chooses 16 people or groups of people who are special to assist in lighting each of the 16 candles. Prior to the lighting a brief verse is read on why they are special. Once they are called up to light the candle a related song is played.

SWEET SIXTEEN TESTIMONIAL

I wanted to have the best sweet 16 ever and my parents agreed !!! so we decided that this is going to be the biggest and best one ever !!! we live in Florida so we have beaches . we rented this huge party house thing on the beach so we could have as many people as possible. we had 115 people so it was a pretty big party. for giveaway prizes we got shirts made that had a picture of me that said Brittany's sweet 16, we had boas, candy with personalized wrappers, mardi gras beads, glow sticks...etc.. we got a DJ and we had 3photographers there to take great pictures of my great party. when everybody walked in they had to sign a big poster that had a blown up picture of me and a pretty wish book also at the door we hired a man to take Polaroid pictures before the people came in. for food we got it catered by c.r chicks and the river house, we got an assortment of everything !!! we also rented a popcorn machine, cotton candy, snow cone, and a margarita and slushier mixer. We ordered 300 balloons of every color. the time of the party was 7:00- 2:00am. we danced and partied all night long !!!! when the guests left they got a personalized CD  and a picture of them at the party. i think that was the best party ever !!!
